Large Cameo Pin and Pendant with Two Bridled Horses. A hand carved large cameo with two lively horses in elegant detail. The horses have a keen and alert expression, and their detailed mane, tail and bridled faces exude the ethereal and mystically wonderful scenes which can be typical of classical works of art. The cameo is set in sterling silver and and has a 14k gold rope running around the bezel. There is a pin and also a hidden stationary bale which is large enough to slide over a 6mm pearl necklace. The cameo measures 40 x 30mm, 1-3/4" tall x 1-1/2" wide. This hard carved cornelian shell cameo is signed on the front by the artist "Balzano" and also signed on the back by Gennaro Borriello- a signature card signed from him guarantees the authenticity of the cameo. Our cameos are created in southern Italy, where carvers carry-on the ancient art form of hand carved cameos. Each cameo is a one-of-a-kind heirloom. This very special and beautiful piece is a wonderful gift for any horse lover!.
