A wonderful sterling silver replica of an antique French medal. We molded this piece from the original medal. The original medal is circa 1915 and was made in France. It is 3/4" around and weighs 2.6 grams. It is perfect as a pendant and also as a charm. The detail is excellent with Joan D'Arc in armor, mounted on an elegant horse, and carrying a banner. The reverse has a lovely subtle waving banner, a sword, her birth and death date, and probably her scrolled initials and a flora design. This is a fabulous piece for any horse lover. It also comes on a sterling silver chain. This piece is proudly handmade in the USA by our master craftsman and comes in our gift box as always!
***Joan of Arc, nicknamed "The Maid of Orléans", is considered a heroine of France for her role during the Lancastrian phase of the Hundred Years' War, and was canonized as a Roman Catholic saint. She was born to Jacques d'Arc and Isabelle Romée, a peasant family, at Domrémy in northeast France.
