Original bridle rosette featuring a huntsman jumping over a wall on blue background, now as a pin/brooch. Horse bridle rosettes were decorative glass domes with pictures. They were brass backed with a bracket fitting so bridle leather could slide through. Each horse would have a pair of rosettes on either side of his head. These special antique rosettes have since been made into weighty pins. The picture motifs cover all subjects-from horses and dogs, ducks and cattle, to machinery, covered wagons, windmills, and boats-to any number of stylized period designs. Most of these bridle buttons measure 1-3/4" in diameter with a secure pin back. What a wonderful and unique piece of equestrian jewelry for the horse lover! rooch.
